The Fronius Primo line features mid-range residential grid-tie inverters incorporating dual MPPT DC connections. Together with the widest input voltage range seen in grid-tie inverters; the flexibility of the Primo line is a great choice when plans call for starting small with the intent to grow the array over time.
A minimum input voltage rating starting at 80 volts (note: current value of 150 volts until late March 2015) allows for starting string sizes as small as three 60 cell(nominal 30 volt) panels in series. The result is the option for a lower cost, entry level system with plenty of room to grow the array over time. Two DC MPPT inputs, each with two connection points, provides even more versatility in array layout and configuration.
Other standard features include a Wi-Fi* and SunSpec Modbus interface for monitoring and datalogging, internal AFCI (arc fault) and GFDI(ground fault) protection in accordance with current UL and NEC requirements, and DC disconnect. The Primo inverters also incorporate the Fronius SnapINverter hinge mounting system, making for a quick and simple inverter installation. NEMA 4X rating makes the units suitable for indoor or outdoor installation.
