26% Federal Solar Tax Credit Expires In 70 Days

With only 70 days left in 2020, time is running out to take advantage of the 26% Federal Solar Tax Credit available for solar, wind and geothermal systems. This credit will be reduced to 22% in 2021 and will end December 31st, 2021 for residential systems. The Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in income taxes when homeowners purchase and install solar and/or wind electric systems. Click here to get more information.

This is also the perfect time to replace an aging or failing battery bank. Replacement battery banks purchased and installed in an existing solar or wind based electric system can qualify for The Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit.

Save money with SolarMany states and local jurisdictions offer incentives in the form of rebates, tax credits, grant programs, and access policies. You can search here for policies and incentives in your state. By combining these incentives with federal tax credits a homeowner can achieve tremendous savings on their solar electric system installation.

As always, consult your accounting or tax professional to determine your actual tax liability and how this tax policy can benefit you.

With over 40 years of experience, Backwoods Solar has the knowledge to help you save money on your solar electric system. Give Backwoods Solar a call today at 208-263-4290 to speak with one of our system designers.
