Our Highest Rated Battery Monitor Gets A WiFi Upgrade

Top Rated Battery Monitor Gets WiFi Upgrade

When Backwoods Solar is asked what the most important component of an off-grid solar electric system is, the answer is usually Bogart Engineering’s Trimetric 2030 battery monitor. TM-2030A WiFi | Backwoods SolarThe TM-2030 is a shunt-based battery monitor that accurately provides battery status and historical data for any type of battery bank. The Trimetric has been our go-to battery monitor for over 2 decades. The TM-2030 battery monitor is now available with the new WF-2030 WiFi module for monitoring your battery bank remotely using your WiFi enabled computer, smartphone, laptop or tablet. No special app or software is needed. Just use a web browser on your device to access the information provided by the Trimetric. The WF-2030 allows the Trimetric battery monitor to be integrated into your existing home network or accessed via a dedicated access point created by the WF-2030 WiFi module itself for added security.

Imagine being able to monitor your battery bank’s performance with any web-enabled device from anywhere in the world. The Trimetric 2030 battery monitor connected to a WF-2030 provides primary battery information including (but not limited to) state of charge, amps and voltage, power (watts), days since charged and days since equalized. Parameter settings can be viewed and changed through the web interface. TM-2030A Data InterfaceHistorical data includes information for the last 5 charges and 5 days of data logging. The wealth of data available can help keep your battery bank operating at its peak potential and avoid costly battery failures.

The TM-2030A  monitor head may be mounted flush into an existing wall or mounted onto the wall surface with the optional M-TRIBOX. The TM-2030RV features a compact enclosure for surface mounting on RV or home walls. Both monitors may be purchased with or without the new WF-2030 WiFi module and the WF-2030 stand alone module is available as an add-on for those who already have a Trimetric battery monitor installed in their home or RV. The WF-2030 requires TM-2030 firmware version 2.5 or above (2016 and later). Earlier models (TM-2020 and TM-2025) are not supported. Look for firmware version labels on the circuit board or face-plate of your unit. Call Backwoods Solar today to get more details on this timely update to our preferred battery monitor.
